Onslow Marine Support Base executes MOU with the Thalanyji people.

OMSB is excited to announce its continued engagement with Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation (BTAC) with the execution of a memorandum of understanding.  The MOU will guide OMSB and BTAC working closely to develop and expand the Beadon Creek Port through the establishment of the Onslow logistics Hub. The Onslow Logistics hub will provide land, goods and services to support Port users activities. Of particular interest to BTAC is OMSB commitment to identify and investigate opportunities for BTAC to provide works, goods and services in connection with the further development and expansion of the logistics Hub.

 The acting BTAC CEO, Osama Masarani said that the agreement represented ”a unique approach for industry and the Traditional Owners to work together for mutual benefit.”  (quoted by BTAC).

Onslow Marine Support Base welcomes its first Platform Supply Vessel

Onslow Marine Support Base has welcomed the Normand Swan to its Marine Facility in Beadon Creek. The Normand Swan is the first Platform Supply Vessel to the call into the base since the $125M project was completed. OMSB can accept vessels up to 110m in length thanks to the capital dredge program which saw Beadon Creek transformed into a modern Port facility available to service the mineral and energy sectors of the West Pilbara.

In the coming months various campaigns will be serviced from OMSB and in some instances the efficiency delivered by OMSB will support more than a 25% reduction in carbon, sulphur, nitrogen and other greenhouse gas emissions.
