Statement by NAIF Board

Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) has announced that its Chair, Ms Sharon Warburton has stepped down from her role due to family health challenges, with effect from 30 April 2018.

Ms Warburton, a highly experienced and respected independent company director, was appointed as the Inaugural Chair of NAIF and took up her position in July 2016. She has provided extremely effective leadership during the establishment phase of the organisation, contributing her deep commercial expertise and industry knowledge to NAIF’s achievement of operational status within a period of less than two years.

The NAIF Board expressed its deep appreciation for Ms Warburton’s leadership, judgement and outstanding contribution during her tenure as Chair of the Board, and wished her the very best during this challenging time for her family.

The Board affirmed their intent to continue Ms Warburton’s excellent work in seeking to meaningfully advance the interests and prosperity of Northern Australians
